Biting Smilies

"Om!" the little smiling fruit snack ferociously bit my fingers. "Can you tell it to say sorry." Mini Meerkat didn't actually ask.

"Ouch, Smiley! Don't bite me. Please say you are sorry," I dutifully said my lines.

"No! No! No! I won't say sorry!" the smiley fruit snack shrieked. "I won't say sorry unless you say please again."

"Smiley, please say you are sorry. Biting isn't nice."

"Oh, that was nice asking. I'm sorry," the Smiley whispered and Mini Meerkat popped the fruit snack into her mouth with a grin.

The conversation continued with every fruit snack in the bag biting me. Occasionally a fruit snack would apologize on the first try, but Mini Meerkat preferred the longer conversation.

Once I dared deviate from the script and mimed trying to eat the Smiley in retaliation. Mini Meerkat as the smiley fruit snack said, "If someone bit my tiny head off, that would be a bummer!"

  2. Ha! It's amazing what they come up with, isn't it? Little Miss loves her a little drama too. Her toys are almost always yelling "HELP!!" (which is a little disconcerting in the middle of a crowded Target).

    1. Mini Meerkat scripts, "help me! somebody! anybody!" when she is upset. Super awkward in public.

  3. Aw, that's too adorable! LOVE it. Can't wait until my little boy reaches this imagination milestone. His is still focused on airplanes. ;)
